Kristiansand Bygg is a Norwegian contractor with a specialty in underwater services.

Our team consists of craftsmen in several selected disciplines. When you choose us for the underwater service, you will not get divers doing craft, but craftsman who can dive. Our reputation means everything to us, so we are always careful to deliver the highest level of quality.

Hull cleaning

The performance of the hull refers to the relationship between the condition of a ship’s underwater hull and the power required to move the ship through water. with a large degree of deterioration on the hull and propeller, fuel efficiency will decrease.

According to IMO Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC63), deterioration in hull & propeller performance accounts for 10% of world-fleet fuel costs and GHG emissions. Therefore, investing in underwater services will greatly reduce emissions and cost.

• We use methods that are adapted to the antifouling coating, -and marine fouling type.

• We will always choose the least aggressive cleaning system that will effectively remove the fouling.

• We clean flat Bottom, vertical sides, sea chest grids rudder and all niche areas such as Bilge keels, Dock keel blocks, etcetera.

Propeller polishing

Barnacles or tubeworms on the propeller will cause a severe loss in the propeller propulsion efficiency. The way to fix this problem is removing all calcium deposits using propeller polishing.

Our divers use gentle methods to clean the propeller, as not to harm it in any way. A polished propeller will be clean and efficient. 

Underwater inspection

Underwater inspections ensure safety and structural integrity of a vessel. By assessing the hull condition and observing the condition of the antifouling paint we can report the underwater status of the ship.

This report will help the responsible personnel ashore, and onboard to make good and correct operational decisions whiles planning voyages and maneuvering the ship.
