Diving Company in Oslo

Ships calling at Oslo, and port and quay owners around the inner Oslofjord, can have underwater surveys, hull work and repairs done without going to dock. Kristiansand Bygg AS sends divers, our own ROV and the equipment the job needs to the berth.

We mobilise from our bases in Kristiansand and Flekkefjord, and when a team is available we can mobilise the same day.

Work we have done in Oslo

  • Kneppeskjær quay, Oslo: advanced underwater wire sawing.
  • Fibre optic cable in the Oslofjord and the Akerselva river: cable laying at several locations in the Oslofjord area and into the Akerselva.
  • Core drilling at 10 m depth.

DNV-approved in-water survey

Kristiansand Bygg AS is a DNV Approved Service Supplier for in-water survey (IWS) of ships, using both divers and ROV, in line with DNV-CP-0628. Our certificate number is AOSS0000S13 and it runs until 2029. Whether the survey can be accepted as UWILD for a given vessel is decided by its classification society.

The scope is agreed with the classification society's surveyor before the dive. A live two-way video link lets the surveyor follow the inspection from their own office. We dive and inspect down to 50 m.

Hull, propeller and sea chest inspection

  • Shell plating, flat bottom and bilge keels
  • Propeller blades, propeller nozzles and rudder
  • Sea chests, gratings and other hull openings
  • Thruster tunnels and anodes

Findings are recorded on video and stills and delivered in a written report. More on methods and reporting: underwater inspections.
